First Saturday Reparation

  • Date: Saturday, August 5, 2017
  • Time: 8:15 AM - 9:30 AM
  • Description: Mary appeared to 3 shepherd children in Fatima in 1917 and told them about the need for reparation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and her Immaculate Heart. She asked them to pray, say the Rosary and participate in the First Saturday Devotion. The elements of this devotion are:
    With the intention of making reparation for the offenses against Mary's Immaculate Heart:
    Go to Confession
    Receive Holy Communion worthily
    Pray 5 decades of the Rosary
    Keep Our Lady company for 15 minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary.

    Join us for the Rosary after 8:15 Mass on the First Saturdays of the month through Oct. 7, 2017. You can practice this devotion on any consecutive First Saturdays.

Has your life changed since then? Does your estate plan reflect your faith?
    Dave Eitland, our Director of Development at St. Matthew, will be conducting educational seminars on Legacy Giving which will answer these questions and other thought provoking insights on giving through estates, will, trusts, and more. His prayerful approach asks Catholic Christians to reflect and act on what God is calling people to do in this giving ministry. All are welcome.
    Sessions will be held at the Parish Hall on:
    Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 4:30 pm—5:30 pm Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 9:30 am—10:30 am

Migrant Ministry

  • Description: All are welcome to join our friends and us at Camp this Wednesday, August 9, for the last gathering with the community. We will have a small celebration with a piñata. We gather at the Pastoral Center around 6 p.m. Some families have already begun to leave, with their children receiving a new backpack through your generosity and the work of members of SVDP. Thank you.

Stewardship Enhancement Initiative (SEI)

  • Description: OVER THE NEXT SIX MONTHS St. Matthew will be creating a renewal of faith through a Stewardship Enhancement Initiative. This will be conducted in both English and Spanish for all members of the Parish. This is essential for a deeper understanding of how we can be better disciples and stewards of the gifts God entrusts to us.
    All members of the community are welcome. This is a valuable review to enhance your ministry as a disciple of Christ. What are you called to do?
    THE NEXT ENGLISH SESSION WILL BE HELD ON:
    Thursday, August 10, at 7 p.m., in the Parish Hall
    Dave Eitland, our parish Director of Development, will guide the English sessions. His topic for the evening will be Servants of God: First Sign: Prayer. He will be also discuss opportunities for involvement in the Stewardship Enhancement Initiative (SEI) to secure pledges for the 2018 St. Matthew Ministries.
